Damo
Damo holds a Bachelor of Youth Work and a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management and been working in Youth Development since finishing his study.
Growing up in Country Victoria, Damo spent the majority of his childhood playing a range of sports.
Throughout his teenage years Damo faced ongoing injury. In his early twenties and while studying at University these injuries began to effect his mental health.
Having learnt about CBT while combatting these mental health challenges Damo decided that everyone needed to know more about the principles of CBT which helped him.
Larry
Larry is a 7 year old English Cocker Spaniel with a love for pats and human affection.
Larry is an accredited Therapy Dog who has been through specialised training to ensure he is suitable in wide range of situations.
Larry has been working as a Therapy Dog since the beginning of 2022. Working in a Youth Drop-In Centre Larry is comfortable in large groups and is happy being surrounded by people of all ages
Larry brings a comfort to all sessions, allowing everyone to have a common connection and feel welcomed into any space.
Damian is not a psychologist, psychiatrist or researcher. Damian is a Youth Worker and someone who is sharing their story of mental health. The theories and principles throughout the presentation have come from evidence based research.
